North Platte is located in the state’s southwestern region. Its rates for the 30-year fixed mortgage reflect those of Omaha and Lincoln, while the national average is 4.37 percent. Located in the Nebraska Panhandle, Scottsbluff has lower home prices than it did a year ago. A home in the Scottsbluff region has an average list price of $125,000. The low for a 15-year fixed mortgage is 3.42 percent, while the national average is 3.48 percent.
